Since a Serbian assassin killed Archduke Francis Ferdinand we declare war on Serbia!
Each side fought from deep ditches dug into the ground called trenches. They used new weapons such as machine guns, poison gas, and tanks to fight soldiers in the trenches.
You better stop attacking us!
German U-boats began to attack American ships. The United States warned them to stop, but they ignored the Americans.
Because of the war 8.5 million soldiers died and 20 million soldiers were injured. The leaders of the Allied Countries met to make decisions about the terms of peace after war and their decisions were recorded in the Treaty Of Versailles. The decisions were to give up overseas colonies, slash the size of their armies, and pay money for damage repairs
In conclusion WW1 changed the governments of some European countries and the borders of others. WW1 had a big influence on our world today!
