Today I told my family of my enrollment to the Voyagers.I will be leaving tomorrow for Saint Anne's to say my prayers for the long journey a head of me. I don't want to leave my family, but we need the money or we will be out on the streets. I just can't do that to my family.
Today was rough. Most of the voyagers were kind, but others were rude and cruel.I miss my family dearly. Why did I sign as a voyager? My muscles are aching from carrying all of the parcels. I can't give up! I will be a voyageur. I must get my rest for the long day ahead of me. Hopefully the future will be bright.
Hey Shrimpy, you and the other maids don't come until.......FOREVER!
Today our bowman Orphe fell into the rapids while a humongous wave rushed by. All of the other men in the brigade just stood there doing so I just jumped in. Orphe is fine now , but still a little shaking up. At least I have their respect.
We arrive to Lake Superior! The Journey was long, but it was worth all the bruises and blisters. Going through the water ways was tough, but at the end the day I would do it five times over again. We will set up camp on the shore line to rest and then in the afternoon we will start heading towards the middle of the lake. I cannot believe the journeys almost over!
