  • In the beginning of the story we find out that Amira wants to be a singer but is to afraid to sing in front of real people so she starts imagining that she is a singer but her brother catches her. 
  • In the middle of the story Amira sees that everyone has an abundant amount of cultural items to represent their culture. Amira was not proud of her self and thought she did poorly to represent her country.
  • At the end of the story to comfort herself Amira starts to sing and does not realize that she is singing out loud. When Amira opens her eyes she realizes that everyone is  staring at her and then people start to clap an she sees her parents crying
