The friends escape the Underworld and discover Ares on the beach. Ares had stolen the helm of darkness and the master bolt from the original thief. Percy wounds Ares, wins the helm and bolt, and returns them to their owners.
Luke confesses to stealing the bolt and helm for Kronos. Kronos is planning on starting a war between the Olympian gods. The mystery of the “lightning thief” has been solved, but a bigger threat remains…...
