  • At first Mitch felt nothing as he laid sprawled on the ice. But then out the bottom of his ice as he tried to get up, blood was bleeding heavily from his thigh. He had been cut by his opponent's skate.

  • Now his opponent, Blake, had seen this incident and was quickly trying to help Mitch. While Mitch's parents had called 911 for an ambulance, Blake had grabbed a towel from the bench and began applying pressure to Mitch's leg.
  • Until help arrives, Blake and the team's trainer apply and hold pressure to Mitch's wound, which is the most important thing to do. Once in the ambulance, the medical personnel transport Mitch to the closest hospital to receive treatment.
  • Through this whole process and unexpected events, the most important thing to do is remain calm and keep the wounded even more calm.
  • Eventually the would will heal and Mitch will be back to normal. Because of Blake's quick reaction to help, and that he remained calm, Mitch is now ok.
