The Europeans first found interest in Canada after they found lots of cod.
The first nations showed the Europeans the amazing beaver fur. This made the Europeans want to settle and have control over all beaver pelts.
The Europeans moved into Canada and took control of the fur trade. They traded the fur back to Europe and the fur got made into fashionable clothing
The Christians thought they were helping the First Nations by taking away there kids and forcing the kids to become more "normal" to European standards.
The Europeans started to develope the land because they didn't live off the land like the First Nations do. The First Nations got pushed to the side throughout all this development.
Canada is now working on a truth and reconciliation act which is supposed to apologise to the First Nations for all of Canada's wrong doings to them.
