Hugh Capet became king in 987. He was not powerful. Hugh Capet made the thorns stays within their family which the captains enjoy an unbroken succession for years and he church supported him. His people, the capetians created an effective government.
Philip Augustus became king in 1165. He was an outstanding king. Philip Augustus paid middle class owe loyalty to him and gave many times for the people in France. Philip Augustus died in 1223 but became the most powerful ruler in Europe.
Louis IX became king 1226. He was an admired (well known) French ruler king and was declared a saint. Louis IX was a very deeply religious man. He helped the royal government by senting travelers to check for local officials. Louis died 1270.
Philip was a mean king. He tries to take taxes from the church. But the pope got angry and didnt allow philip to rax the church without permission from the pope consent, so Philip IV sent troops and capture buniface while pope escape and died afterwarf. So in 1302,Philip IV created the estates gerneral. It have members of the clergy,nobles and towns of people.
Saint Louis, known as Louis IX. Louis IX was crown at age 12,following the death of his father Louis VIII the lion.
