Storyboard Text

  • SOUTH
  • Why does it matter that Missouri is coming as a slave state?
  • NO! The balance will be thrown off.
  • NORTH
  • I have made a decision and I came up with the Missouri Compromise. I will allow Missouri to enter as a slave state along with Maine as a free state.
  • WHAT ABOUT THE FUTURE STATES?!
  • The North and the South are both arguing about whether Missouri should be allowed to enter as a slave state.
  • I have made this line on the coordinates of 36'30'. Everything north of the line will not permit slavery with the exception of Missouri, and everything south will allow slavery.
  • Henry Clay introduced he Missouri Compromise by telling them the first term of it.
  • Wow that is an amazing idea. Now the balance will stay restored
  • We want slaves for money but there is equality in states.
  • The people are wondering and worried about the future states coming in. The North doesn't want it to spread that much anymore but the South does.
  • We want freedom for slave but we have equality in states.
  • Henry Clay is explaining the 36'30' line.
  • The North and the South are both satisfied with the plan of the Missouri Compromise with the 36'30' line and to keep the balance equal.
  • After the Missouri Compromise was put in, the balance became 15 free and 15 slave states for 30 peaceful years delaying the Civil War
