The Astrolabe was a tool that was used to help explorers by finding the latitude from the northstar
The Quadrant helped find how high the north star was. This helped explorers know where they are.
The cross staff helped explorers look closer to objects and measure the latitude.
The compass, no matter where you point it at, will help figure out where north is.
Sailors/Explorers used these clocks to measure time.
Maps were used to by sailors to keep track of where they were. But, maps weren't accurate.
