Storyboard Text

  • The Missouri Compromise was considered the work of Henry Clay, much like the American System.
  • Along with our new economic system, we are introducing Maine to the union as a free state to balance Missouri as a slave state.
  • Jackson was happily elected and during his time in office he improved many things. Women and the mentally ill gained many rights, along with that he made America a democracy and gave more power to the people.
  • It's about time! In my time in office I plan on giving more power to the people, I also plan on dealing with the Native Indians, and also want to annex Texas. Lastly, I will be selecting many friends to office.
  • I am proud to introduce our 7th president, Andrew Jackson!
  • Your spoils system is not fair!
  • After the Tariff of 1828
  • This is a Tariff of Abominations! It's only benefitting the north!
  • As a southerner, I realize that a lot of these new tariffs can feel unfair. That is why the nullification proclamation allows anyone to be able to nullify a law if they feel it unfair.
  • John C Calhoun announces the Nullification Proclamation in attempt to mollify the south.
  • My vice president, John C. Calhoun, will now present to you the nullification proclamaition
  • Calhoun, I told you I'm not doing anything about the taxes, they are keeping us safe. However I am passing the force bill, making it to where noone can resist the taxes.
  • The more important thing is getting the Indians off our land!
  • Jackson passes the "Force Bill", making avoiding taxes impossible.
  • Wow, "someone" published a really good pamphlet called "South Carolina Exposition and Protest"
  • Indians of the Choctaw, Chickasaw, Cherokee, Creek, and Seminole, you have two choices. Either convert to the white ways of life or pack your things and leave. Since I know you won't convert, any Indian living in Georgia, Florida, and Mississippi must migrate to Oklahoma.
  • The Natives were forced out of their homes and sent to march hundreds of miles in the Trail of Tears.
