  • " 'Brutus' will start a spirit as soon as 'Caesar' "
  • "That you do love me, I am nothing jealous."
  • Act 2 Scene 2
  • "Am I entreated to speak and strike? O Rome, I make thee promise if thee redress will follow, thou receivest thy full petition at the hand of Brutus!"

  • The soothsayer warns Caesar to be careful on March 15th, but Caesar is arrogant and ignores his omen.
  • Cassius is trying to flatter Brutus by saying he would be a better ruler than his best friend Caesar. Cassius wants Brutus to help Caesar, but Brutus doesn't want to.
  • Cassius sends Brutus letters pretending to be commoners to persuade Brutus to help conspire against Caesar. These letters work and convince Brutus.
