  • The Return
  • Argus
  • The Suitors
  • In this scene Odysseus tells Telemachus to "let your ribs cage up/ your springing heart" when they are planning to kill the Suitors.
  • Penelope
  • In this scene Odysseus' old dog, Argus, hears his owners voice and is far too weak to get up and go to him. He does attempt to go to Odysseus but dies in the process.
  • The Challenge
  • In this scene, the Suitors were ignorant and disrespectful because they treated the land of Ithaca like it was theirs by basically inviting themselves in and drinking and eating all the food provided. 
  • The Bedroom Scene
  • In this scene, Penelope says she wishes to make a funeral cloth, so that she could pass time, she wouldn't marry until she was done, so she would weave all day, and at night she would unravel everything and start over
  • In this scene, Odysseus, who was dressed as a beggar, took his turn in stringing the bow and shooting it through the axe loops to prove that he is Odysseus.
  • In this scene, Penelope tests Odysseus to prove that he is really his husband. Odysseus then tells Penelope all about the olive tree as he built his kingdom around it with his blood, sweat, and tears.
