Storyboard Text

  • Ordinary World
  • Call to Action
  • Congratulations on becoming a Friendly Helper Grace Wells!
  • Crossing the Threshold
  • For sure!
  • Would you be able to watch my little Elise this weekend?
  • I went to preschool when I was a child and loved the school environment. I was helpful, talkative, and a hard worker. I enjoyed playing, working, and being with my classmates and teacher.
  • Mentor Teaches the Lead
  • Just call if you need us! We are right down the road!
  • I was nominated in fifth grade to be a "Friendly Helper". This meant I got to work with kindergartners on their reading and writing skills at the end of each school day. Teachers saw qualities in me that showed I was responsible and a very good role model for the kids.
  • First Challenge
  • I started getting asked to babysit some kids in my neighborhood. I did these jobs on my own without my parents. This is when I seriously jumped into working with kids and enjoying it!
  • Dark Moment
  • Am I good enough? Am I a good role model for these kids? Should I continue doing this job? Or should I give up?
  • My parents make sure everything is okay when I am taking care of children. They are always there for me if I need anything. They help pay my college fees and guide me on my way to becoming a elementary school counselor.
  • Will do!
  • Parents sometimes complain if I don't follow their directions correctly. When they yell at me, it makes me feel like I am not good enough and I make everything worse. They pay me money to do a good job and I feel defeated and upset if I can't be the best babysitter.
  • Why is she not in bed already? Or even in her pajamas!?
  • What if a kid gets hurt under my watch? What if I make a big mistake? What if I am never able to make it through college? What will my job be if I can't become an elementary school counselor?
