Odysseus and his men were sailing away when they heard sing.... it was hypnotic, it was Sirens. Everyone stopped what they were doing to listen. Sirens looked like mermaids but they were evil. Their plan was to enticing them so much that their ship would crash and they all would die(because no one was steering.) But Odysseus heard of the Sirens before. He stuffed his and his men's ears so he could not hear. They sailed safely away.
The Story of the Sirens
Circe the Beautiful Witch
Odysseus and his men decided to sail to shore once again. Half of this team went to explore the woods until they set sail again and a few hours into that walk they heard singing. They neared the house from which the singing came from and they welcomed in warmly. The owner was a beautiful, yet evil witch and with her magical powers she poisoned them with a potion which turned them into pigs. After a while Odysseus set out to look for them and on his way a young man told him about the evil witch and what she did to men. This younger man gave Odysseus a flower that if he ate, he would be invincible to her powers. Once he found her house she tried to turn him awell but it was no use. He lunged at her with his sword and she begged for mercy. He gave it to her. And because of that, the next morning she turned his men back but they were younger and stronger.
