Storyboard Text

  • 15-20 million years ago, the Twelve Apostles were one big piece of limestone rock.
  • The Twelve Apostles 6000 years ago when the formation started. Big pieces of sandstone rock fell of the main cliff.
  • About 6000 years ago, the Twelve Apostles begin to look like what we have now, next to the sea with similar sea levels.
  • The Twelve Apostles 6000 years ago when the formation started.
  • Erosion cuts the Twelve Apostles off from the mainland and wears them down. They are decreasing about 2 cm in height each year.
  • During 2002-2009 five of the Twelve Apostles have crumbled.
  • Only 7 of the Twelve Apostles remain now on the coastal shores of Victoria in 2014.
  • I predict that in 100 years time a few more apostles would have crumbled or have become much shorter.
