  • Tip-off has just begun, with the Toronto Raptors vs. the Boston Celtics
  • A message that the commentator wants to say "The Raptors have won the tip-off" is sent to his brain.  The brain then sends a message to his vocal chords.  The vocal chords vibrate, which pushes air throught the lungs, which creates a sound

  • The microphone converts the soundwaves into electrical impulses, which are stored in the mic.
  • The raptors have won the tip-off
  • The speaker pushes out the electric impulses into the air.  They molecules in the air vibrate to get from the speaker to the recever's brain.
  • The soundwaves travel into your ear, and make the cilia vibrate.
  • Cilia
  • Once the cilia vibrates, the cilia sends a signal to the brain
  • The receiver can now hear the sound and react accordingly
  • The Raptors have won the tip-off
