  • Militarism Europe had an arms race. Countries were competing against each other. Developed for a quick mobilization and war

  • Many tangled Alliances appeared all over Europe. Was meant to stop the war but actually cause the war. Germany had an alliance with Austria-Hungary. They were called the central power.
  • Economics
  • European counties competed for colonies in Africa and Asia. Almost went to war over these colonies
  • The Spark
  • A deep devotion and pride for one's nation. Competition between Europe's major countries for power and territory.
  • World War I covers the methods used by the First World War (1914–1918), as well as related postwar issues such as war debts and reparations.
  • On June 28, 1914, a young Serbian nationalist named Gavrilo Princip killed Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the throne of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, in Sarajevo, Bosnia.
