  • Tiresias (the blind prophet), Haemon (Antigone's fiancée and Creon's son), and the chorus beg Creon to release Antigone from prison.
  • Please sir.
  • After much compulsive begging...
  • Thank you king.
  • !!!!!!!
  • Fine.
  • Yes!
  • Creon goes to the cell to release Antigone.
  • She's dead!
  • Haemon and Creon's wife, Eurydice, are so sad that they kill themselves.
  • Creon is led into his home in deep sadness.
  • "I have killed my son and my wife. I look for comfort' my comfort lies here dead" (Sophocles v.135-136).
  • His lamentation would be heard for a long time in the future...
  • Choragos speaks to the audience.
  • "There is no happiness where there is no wisdom; No wisdom but in submission to the gods. Big words are always punished, And proud men in old age learn to be wise" (Sophocles v.138-142).
