  • I wish I had beautiful luxuries and wealth.
  • Mademe Loisel gets a new dress for the ball with 400 francs.
  • Mademe Loisel borrowed a diamond necklace from her friend to wear to the ball.

  • Mademe Loisel did not have luxuries. Her house was shabby and ugly. She was sad because she had no family rank and no status.
  • Mademe Loisel got a new dress for the ball. She could´nt afford to buy one, so she asked her husband to borrow his 400 francs which he was saving for a gun to go hunting.
  • I can't believe I have lost the necklace!
  • Mademe Loisel felt very honored when she was given the necklace because it costed 3600 francs, and she has always wanted to wear things like that to look wealthy.
  • I will give you some francs.
  • Thank you so much!

  • The climax of the story is when Mademe Loisel loses the diamond necklace that costs 3600 francs.
  • Mademe Loisel is mourning over the loss of the 3600 francs necklace. She doesn't know what she is going to do and she doesn't know how she is going to be able to pay her friend back.
  • Monsieur Loisel decides that he is going to give Mademe Loisel enough francs to pay for the necklace that she lost.
