  • "True- nervous-very, very dreadfully nervous... How calmly I can tell you the whole story"
  • "Every night, about midnight, I turned the latch of his door and opened 
  • By  Edgar Allan Poe 1843 nelson santelises
  • "And now at the dead hour of the night... I then SMILED gaily, to find the deed so far done" 
  • The Narrator explains how he is nervous and calm, also how easy it is to tell the story of what he did.
  • "Villains... dissemble no more! I admit the deed- tear up the planks! Here, Here!" 
  • The Narrator sneaks into the old mans room in the night to figure out a plan on killing the evil eye the old man has.
  • THE END
  • The Narrator then finally decided that the day had come for the old mans evil eye to end its peril , So he killed the old man
  • The scream that the old man has let out, caught attention to his neighbor who called the police to investigate the situation. The Narrator tried to ward off the police officers but couldn't due to his guilt
