oh!!! I lost my land.
After losing large amounts of land in Europe the 2nd crusade was launched but that was a complete failure because of poor planning.
Saladin captured jerusalem so in response rulers of England,France, and the Holy Roman Empire launched the 3rd crusade.
The leader of the crusades made a deal with the leader in venice to pay for there ships to sail to the holy land, however not enough knights arrived for venice to pay the bill. Then Doge made a proposal that they could pay off their debt if they attacked the city of Zara.
The effects the crusades had on Europe are they learned about new products such as exotic fruit, knowledge about about mathematics, medicine, gunpowder, architecture, and astronomy from muslims.
The effect the crusades had on kings are the kings grew in wealth and power as they were able to take over lands of lords and knights who died on the crusades.
The last major important impact of the crusades was in relations between Christians, jews, and muslims. Hostile feelings were created during the crusades which have lasted into the present day.
