  • The Civil War Major Events Timeline
  • Fort Sumpter was responsible for the Start of the Civil War
  • April 12–13, 1861
  • Oh No! They are attacking Fort Sumter. We are going to starve!
  • Battle of Bull Run was the first major battle resulting in a Confederate victory. This was the battle that woke up the north from their false hope that this would be an easy war.
  • July 21, 1861
  • November 19th, 1863
  • Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth upon this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. 
  • April 14th, 1865
  • On April 9th the confederates Surrendered resulting in the end of the war and the union winning. 
  •  The Gettysburg Adress was a 3-minute speech that Abraham Lincoln said to open the national cemetery.
  • April 14, 1865. The assassination of Lincoln was the final event of the war happening after the surrender of Lee and the Confederates. John Wilks Booth killed Lincoln at a theater on April 14th, 1865
