Storyboard Text

  • Well, according to scientists, this is a start of a tsunami. Tsunamis come in waves. If one wave passes, you shouldn't relax. Tsunamis come in many waves, one after another.
  • Oh no! The water is acting very strangely! What do you think is happening?
  • Wait a sec. A tsunami? Whats a tsunami and how do they happen?
  • Good question. A tsunami can happen by an underwater volcano, landslide or most likely, an underwater earthquake.
  • In an underwater earthquake, two plates, the oceanic plate, and the continental plate push together. The oceanic plate is heavier, so it pushes under the other plate causing a big wave. That wave eventually brings itself to shore.
  • Yeah, but like how?
  • Awesome! Let's go!
  • That all is very interesting, but I think I could learn a lot in a real live tsunami.
  • Lets go to Hawaii! They have a lot of tsunamis there! Maybe they'll teach us some more things about tsunamis!
  • No problem kids! So long!
  • Hey kids, I'm Old Man Johnson. I've been in many tsunamis. If your'e ever in one, try going to higher surface, or try grabbing onto something that floats. Remember, tsunamis come in constant rushing water. So long kids! Be safe!
  • Cool! Thanks, Old Man Johnson!
