  • The United States sent weapons, airplanes, tanks, and food to Great Britain before entering the war.
  • Because many men left home for war, women were left to fill jobs men would normally  work.
  • June 6, 1944 on Omaha Beach, almost 3,000 men were wounded and/or killed.
  • Japanese planes hit U.S. ships using a method called kamikaze.
  • Japanese leaders refused unconditional surrender.
  • Groups of people still do not interact with each other due to what has happened in the past. The war has deeply impacted the way people think of one another.
