Storyboard Text

  • "I knew all the founding brothers. Take E. J. Bradley. We hunted many a day together, not for the sport of it but for something to eat."
  • Lester is telling tales to the young porters about the Union Station and the founding fathers.
  • Lester is asking one of the porters if he has heard about Tip and the porter says Tip boarded the 11:59 in Kansas City about a month ago.
  • "I haven't heard from ol' Tip in a while. Anybody know anything?''
  • "You haven't got the word, Lester? Tip boarded the 11:59 over in Kansas City about a month ago."
  • Lester looks at clock and the time is 11:59 and he knows his death is coming soon.
  • "No, he said into the darkness. "I'm not ready. I've got plenty of living yet.
  •  Lester is going to spend the rest of the night plotting his escape from fate.
  • "Ain't no way to escape the final ride on the 11:59. But I’m gon’ try!”
  • Lester unplugs everything in his house so nothing bad happens and then he falls  asleep and suddenly wakes up.
  • "Won't that be a wonderful story to tell at the porter house?”
  • Lester is sitting in his chair and Tip comes to take his soul.
  • “I   know. I know, ”. "But man, I had to try.”
  • “It’s me, ol’ partner. Come to remind you that none of us can escape the last ride   on the 11:59.”
