Welcome to our recap of this years U.S. History class.
This era is Reconstruction. This is where everybody pitched in to rebuild the country. Black people were also allowed to take public office, but whites were not happy about that.
Reconstruction is the time where people moved to the west for opportunities of wealth and a better life. Black codes were passed though. The KKK was created and black people were treated terribly.
Immigration is when people from other countries came to America to escape the troubles from their countries. This lead to overcrouding, discrimination, and ghettos
The Jim Crow era was the time where heavy anti-black laws were placed. These laws resticted blacks to vote, to go to white areas and many other laws.
