  • In ancient Greece people had mountain ranges and oceans always near. Mountains made it hard to travel by land, so Greeks transportation was boats. 
  • Because of the type of uneven land, farming in ancient Greece was hard. To avoid mountains Greeks had to create steps of flat land to farm. They also had animals including pigs, horses, donkeys, and sheep. 
  • As population increased and food decreased, Greeks decided to build Colonies. They went through sea to search for appropriate land, and each colony found the perfect place. This spread Greece's culture. 
  • We will build our Colony here...

  • Ancient Greeks traded by sea. They used boats to travel and trade olive oil and pottery. Other nations paid with metal, grain, and timber.
