This is a volcano. Out of volcanoes come magma. When the magma hits water or cools naturally it makes a igneous rock like obsidian, basalt, pumice and granite.
When a igneous rock gets weathered and eroded it creates sediment. When it is done eroding it gets deposited <--- sediment
When the sediment gets deposited the rocks build up and the presure get so high that the rocks start smushing together. That is also known as compacting and cementing
With the help of heat and presure caused by the magma under the crust and the presure of the earth above it it makes a matamorphic rock.
When a metomorphic gets melted by magma it turns into a sludge of lava.
Then the rock cycle starts all over again!
