Many of the jurors resented being apart of the trial and just wanted it to be over with. Everyone voted guilty either by just wanting it finished or because they were discriminatory towards the defendant. Everyone except juror 8 (Middle).
Juror 8 is able to influence the other eleven jurors' decisions through careful analyzation or evidence and testimonies. Through careful examination, and the 8th juror's willpower, the jury is able to conduct an appropriate verdict for the case.
Rose plays off two different types of justice, the extreme view of saying that if the kid were actually guilty it is just that he is sentenced, but he should be given a fair trial and be fought for. He uses theses views to compare the different jurors.
