European countries, primarily Britain began colonizing lands on the east coast of the Americas
Europeans and slaves began immigrating in search of job opportunities and in hope of starting a new life.
Due to the Tea Act, many small buisnesses began to suffer and hence the 'Boston Tea Party' occured. This was where many trade boats carrying tea, dumped it into the ocean.
The Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776, leading to a formation of the Continental Army led by George Washington
In 1781 a British army under General Cornwallis confronted George Washington and his forces at Yorktown. The battle lead to the surrender of Cornwallis giving the Continental Army a significant victory. Considered the battle which lead to the downfall of the British in the Americas.
In 1783 the Treaty of Paris was signed where the revolutionaries recieved all the land east of the Mississippi, south of Canada, north of Florida, and obtained fishing rights off Canadian Coasts. George Washington became the 1st President of the U.S.A
