Storyboard Text

  • At the beginning of the story Rainsford comes off as very confident in himself and ignorant. In this conversation with Whitney he claims that he doesnt care how the animals feel and talks about how he will hunt anything. Whitney does not agree with him, she cares about the animals even though she is also a hunter
  • Don't talk rot, Whitney. You're a big game hunter not a philosopher. Who cares how the jaguar feels?
  • Rainsford is still very confident and tells the general that he does not condone what the general does which causes conflict between him and the general. However, in the beginning of the story he implemented that he would hunt anything and now when he is faced with the prospect of it he disagrees.
  • Did not make me condone cold-blooded murder.
  • Surely your experiences in the war.....
  • Rainsford is struggling within himself to stay sane. Now that Rainsford is in the jungle he loses most of his confidence and finds it hard to keep his nerve.
  • I must keep my nerve. I must keep my nerve.
  • Rainsford decided to attack the general in the woods by building a trap. The general steps in the trap and the tree falls on him. This shows the cunning side of Rainsford which was shown in the beginning of the story. He is acting more like his original self in this scene.
  • Rainsford how dare you!
  • Rainsford faces the conflict of jumping off the cliff and having the possibility of dying in the water or not jumping and getting killed by the general. He decides to jump into the water, this shows an undeceive side in Rainsford that was not present easrlier in the story.
  • Am I going to die?
  • Rainsford regains his confidence when he ends up in the general's bedroom and challenges him. Although he did change through the story, in the end he ended up acting the same way as he acted in the beginning.
  • Get ready, General Zaroff.
  • How did you get in here?
