Charles Darwin is born into a wealthy family in 1809 in England
In 1825 he attended the University of Edinburgh Medical School, where he neglected his studies and was a troublemaker
His father, trying to reform his rapscallion ways, sent him to Christ's College in Cambridge. He eventually graduated in 1831
After his graduation he received an invitation from Captain Robert FitzRoy to board the HMS Beagle for a scientific journey.
As a scientist, he collected specimens and observed nature. One important discovery he made was about species of birds on the Galapagos Islands. He noticed that the same type of bird had variations in beak size depending on the island it lived on
Charles Darwin is credited with the theories of Natural Selection, the Evolutionary Tree, and many other evolution-oriented ideas
