Lords of the Sea
Starting in 793, the Vikings raided England, and attacked the monasteries. Later, they continued to raid villages throughout Ireland and the rest of England for 60 years.
In about 861, a Viking named Naddod got caught in a terrible storm that pushed him towards new land. Naddod returned back to his people to tell them about his discovery.
A man named Floki returned to the land Naddod had discovered. He found out that all the land was covered in ice, so he named the place Iceland.
Floki continued to search the land, and he found good farmland. He told his people about this, and more than 30,000 Vikings then moved to Iceland.
In 982, a Viking named Erik was banished from Iceland for killing two men. When he left he went west and found new land. He named the new land Greenland, so people in Iceland would think it's good farming.
