  • Exposition: The exposition has many parts. It starts out, with an island in sight, but the island is rather a mysterious one. The island was called ‘Ship-Trap Island’ and many sailors dreaded the place. It also gives us a few ideas on some characters. One, is Whitney, who appears to be a sailor as well as a hunter. Then there is Rainsford, who as well seems to be a hunter.
  • Exposition Cont: They were headed to Rio, and the amazon forest, getting ready to hunt. Rainsford believes that there are two classes, the hunters and the huntees. Rainsford and the crew then feel as if the place is dangerous and unwelcoming, because of how they felt. Whitney goes to bed, and Rainsford hears                   a erupt sound. A gunshot.
  • Conflict: Rainsford gets on the rail of the yacht to get a better look but can’t see anything. His pipe gets knocked out of his mouth and he lunged forward to get it and ends up in the sea. He struggles and fails to catch up with the yacht, leaving him behind in the water. He swims towards the sounds of the gunshots and finds himself on an island. He dozes off quickly. When he awakes, he follows the trail of a hunter’s boots.
  • Conflict Cont: He found an enormous building that resembled a castle, he went to the door and met a giant man with a revolver. He did not speak while Rainsford discussed his troubles. Eventually, he stepped back and another man comes to the door. He introduces himself as General Zaroff.
  • Rising action: In the rising action, Rainsford walks into the home of General Zaroff. At this point in time he is curious to what is going on, after seeing the bloody bushes, and hearing gunshots. Ivan, shows Rainsford to the dining room, where Zaroff was just about to eat borscht. Zaroff explains how he is welcoming and wanting to have amenities for a civilization. The talk about how the love hunting and the think of it as a game
  • Rising Actiong Cont: Zaroff explains how he has hunted every animal with no doubt and goes on to saying that there is one animal that has reasoning. Rainsford soon notices that most animals only have instinct and he starts to get curious of how an animal can have such reason. Zaroff then explains how he kills humans as a game. Rainsford soon gets stressed out at the fact that he is sitting next to a murderer.
