Storyboard Text

  • Our theme is hope!
  • Margaret: Another letter from my dear brother Robert Walton. He is lonely and I hope he finds a friend to tell his stories.
  • "Only one dog remained alive; but there was a human being within it whom the sailors were persuading to enter the vessel. He was not, as the other travelers seem to be, a savage inhabitant of some undiscovered island, but a European."
  • So did the man eat the dog because he was hungry?
  • Thinking out loud: "Did the man eat the dog due to circumstances?"
  • "Good God! Margaret, if you had seen the man who thus capitulated for his safety, you're surprise would have been boundless. His limbs were nearly frozen, and his body dreadfully emaciated by fatigue and suffering. "
  • So did the man eat the dog because he was hungry?
  • Well, he found the friend that he wanted
  • "Two days passed in this manor before he was able to speak, and I often fear that his suffering had deprived him of understanding."
