President Johnson launches the three year campaign of sustained bombing of targets in North Vietnam. This led to mass destruction of land in Northern Vietnam and mass deaths.
March of 1965
The Tet Offensive begins, encompassing an assault of Vietminh and North Vietnamese armies. Bloody attacks shocked the U.S. officials and this sparked the U.S. to withdraw troops from the area gradually.
January of 1968
On January 27th, 1973 President Nixon signs the Paris Peace Accords, this ended the U.S.A.'s part in the Vietnam war. The North Vietnamese accept a cease fire.
