Storyboard Text

  • Hey ya'll I'm Ralph! Do you mind helping me dig up these rocks for the boss.
  • Hello, of course I can help you! I'm Mellany.
  • Working on this house is making me work up a sweat.
  • Me too! But it's paying for my dinner tonight so it's all worth it!
  • Here's your pay for the day Ralph and Mellany. You both are working in the shop tomorrow starting at 7 a.m, don't be late.
  • Thank you so much boss for the money! See you bright and early tomorrow!
  • Thank you boss, I'll be there at 7 a.m. sharp tomorrow!
  • Hi Ralph, nice to see you again! I so excited, I love making clothes it's probably one of my favorite jobs we do!
  • My topic is sweatshops. In this cartoon, I am agreeing and also am neutral with sweatshops.
  • Hey Mellony, nice to see you too. That's great I'm going to go work on the toys since I just finished these shorts.
  • The Next Day...
  • Ouch! My hand is stuck in this sewing machine, someone please help
  • People voluntarily work in sweatshops, they are not forced. Sweatshops also have nothing to do with me so that is why half of me is neutral.
  • Oh no, let me help you!
  • Ok, just sit still I am going to get your arm out.
  • Although they do not get paid a lot of money, people in sweatshops are poor. It might be the best job they can get, and they are getting paid so they are making money every day.
  • What do we have here? Jose you stopped working to help this girl! Nobody is allowed to stop working!!!!
  • Even though people voluntarily work in sweatshops, they work unreasonable hours even sometimes throughout the night, they work in poor conditions and they have unfair wages.
  • People should not feel bad for the workers in the sweatshops because if they get injured or hurt while working you have to remember they agreed to work and back then punishments, rules and/or consequences were different than they are today.
  • People reading and viewing this ad should realize that sweatshops are not as bad as people think and say they are. Nobody is forcing people from any age to work in a sweatshop. They are receiving little money but when you are poor, you realize that little money is better than no money.
