It is common that teens experiment with alcohol during those years. Some may drink to fit in and feel older at school.
Some teens are curious about alcohol and try it out of curiosity. Teens are usually stressed and need a feel good, relaxed feeling, so they drink.
From young ages , advertisements flash across the screen about ideal people drinking alcohol and enjoying life. Kids are exposed to not only these commercials but many adults and parents use alcohol as a social element.
Alcohol is illegal to buy under the age of 21 but teens can still get a hold of it. Teens can make the decision whether to drink or not, although drinking can cause major punishments. Teens who decide to drink can get in major trouble with the law and are more likely to be in fights and commit crimes.
Teens who drink regularly are more likely to have issues with school. Drinking is not cool, it damages a students abilities to study, and even affects sports performances. Embarrassing things can happen in front of your peers and bad breath is always a turnoff.
Alcohol does major damage to your organs (body in general) and that one decision will haunt you for the rest of your life. Say "No thanks" when a friend offers you a drink. If that doesn't work then give a reason that will make the person think. Make plans to go somewhere rather than be "bored" and drink all night at a friends house. Have a game plan for parties with alcohol, be the smart one. DONT DRINK
