Washington's troops gave up. He had a way though to build up their confidence. He read the crisis to his troops. It would talk about how not to give up in a crisis.
Washington had a strategy to attack the mercenaries with their bayonets when they least expected it, after their Christmas fest. because of this, the war was not over and the colonies still had a chance.
