Storyboard Text

  • we need to search for the necklace!
  • You could have brought it back a little sooner! I might have needed it!
  • Sorry about that.
  • The setting takes place in the 1800s, where here we have Mrs. Loisel going up to the jewelry shop where her friend works.
  • I don't think I've worked so hard in my life... if only I was more careful of the necklace
  • Oh, my poor Mathilde, how've you changed!
  • This is an example of irony because Mrs. Loisel was so pleased to be given a necklace for the night, having it so carefully on her, only to lose it just moments after the party ended without knowing.
  • Yes, I've been through some pretty hard times, and all because of you."
  • This is an example of foreshadowing because since Mr. and Mrs. Loisel bought the new expensive necklace to give to Madame Forestier, you know they have to do some work to pay the debt off.
  • Madame Loisel is a round character. She is lustful for riches, unseeing how good her life is. Yet she is appreciative to the ones she loves, and over the story you see she begins self absorbed and comes out determined.
  • Madame Forestier is static character. Throughout the story she never really understands what happened to the necklace, until the end, and when she finds out, nothing abrubtly happens to have changed her. She isn't the one who spent ten years paying off debt.
  • The theme of this story is maybe both wanting and pride. You greed for things, and it has a price in the end. The Loisels did what was right ultimately, and they show it through many actions.
  • we all make mistakes
