In the exposition of the story Madame Loisel is depressed because she isn't wealthy an she thinks she deserves more than what she has.
Rising action: After her husband gives her an invitation to a ball, and she figures out what she is going to wear including borrowing her friends necklace, she goes to the ball a nd has a great time showing off the necklace, but she ends up loosing it!
Climax: Madame Loisel and her husband end up having to work for ten years in order to pay off the debts from returning the lost necklace.
