Storyboard Text

  • The Union Army could obtain things that the rebels couldn't because of their economy
  • Hot Air Balloons have been around for  a good amount of time.
  • Hot Air Balloons were invented in the 1700's and they weren't new to the public during the war.
  • The balloons were also used by the Union for scouting purposes.
  • The balloons gave the Union an advantage by being able to see where the CSA Army was
  • This advantage could've been the deciding factor in some the battles.
  • Hot Air Balloons have been used in the past for military observations, starting in the 1790's.
  • This definitely heled our nation!
  • If the Union didn't have an advantage, the CSA could've won some of the battles possibly changing the outcome of the war. Thus leaving slavery legal.
  • The Hot Air Balloons allowed the Union to devise battle plans because they could see where the rebels were positioned.
  • The United States Army had thought of using Hot Air Balloons during the Seminole Wars and the Mexican War.
