#### Storyboard Text

• Hey, in math I have a scientific notation project but i don't know how to do it. Could you please explain it to me?
• Of course, scientific notation is the way scientists convert larger numbers into a smaller number by using the amount of numbers behind a decimal. The number must be between 1 and 10. Whatever way you are moving the decimal, whether you want to make your number smaller or larger, determines if an exponent is negative or positive.
• If you move your decimal to the left, y0our exponent will be negative. If you move it to the right, your exponent will be positive. So, if you have .03 and put it in scientific notation, it should be 3x10^-2.
• Oh i think i understand now. You must move the decimal of a number under or over 1-10 to make it 1-10.
• Yay you got it. When you start your project, remember to make your exponent negative or positive depending
