Storyboard Description

Long ago Thorin’s grandfather, Thror, brought their tools and wealth to a mountain. They mined, tunneled, and built workshops inside this mountain and were able to find large amounts of gold and jewels. As he grew rich and famous, a town called Dale was established. They were so wealthy that they were able to make beautiful things like armour, jewels, carvings, cups, and magical toys. There were so many beautiful things, which attracted a dragon. Dragons were known for stealing gold and jewels wherever they could find them. Gold was becoming rare where the dragon’s lived so many would come south. A dragon named Smaug set over their mountain and set the woods on fire. Dwarves couldn’t escape and many warriors were killed. Soon, there were no dwarves left alive and the dragon claimed all the wealth for himself. However, Thror and his son, Thrain, were able to escape in a way that is still unknown. They left a map and a key with Gandalf.
