In the storyboard Voyageurs are trading with the First Nations to get furs to bring back to the trading post. They would then sell the furs to countries and make money.
Trading companies such as the Hudson's Bay Company would send men out to trade with the First Nation groups. They would call these men Voyageurs.
Hudsons Bay Company
Good bye we are going to trade!!!!!
We would like to trade some metal goods for your furs.
The Voyageurs would trade metal goods like pots, pans and cups, with the First Nations for pelts like beaver, mink and muskrat.
Here are some furs.
The Voyageurs would bring the furs back to the trading post, and the trading post would send the furs back to their country, to be made into things which would be sold to make lots of money. Example: Beaver pelts could be sent back to the home country to make beaver fur hats, and then the hats could be sold for lots of money.
