Alright, Mr President.
I've said it once, I'll say it again! No charter! I'm the superior, it will not be renewed!
Jackson's War On The Bank
Well, it's settled!
Yes, of course! Thank you.
Prosperity Becomes Panic
What is going on?!
Nicholas Biddle was the president of Second Bank of the United States, and to operate, they needed a charter from the federal government. But Jackson opposed the bank. Therefore when it was time for the bank to renewal their charter, Jackson vetoed it.
Because of his opposition for the national bank, he got all of the federa; money and placed them into the state banks. This sent the national bank to become non-existent.
Things seemed to calm down the late years of Andrew Jackson's presidency. But after Martin Van Buren became after president, everything fell into panic.
