  • TRUE!-nervous-very,very dreadfully nervous i had been and am; but you say that i am mad?....how calmly i can tell you the whole story.
  •
  • so far that i can see him as he lay upon his bed...oh, so coutiously-coutiosly...and i did this for sevene long nights... every night just at midnight- but i found th eye always closed...for it was not the old man who vexed me, but his evil eye
  •
  • i kept quite still and said nothing. For a whole houri did not move a muscle...
  • WHO'S THERE?
  • the man is a confused, insane and a man that doesn't have good vision. He uses punctuation to emphasize his emotion towards his situation. this is the beginning of a crazy mans horror story...
  • in and instant i dragged him to the floor, and i pulled the heavy bed over him... i then smiled gaily to find the deed so far...yes, he was stone, stone dead.
  • in this scene the narrator described what he despises about the man AND ITS A EYE. Not only is he trying to kill a civil man but he stalked him for seven nights. is this man insane or what?
  • The old man had realized that someone was in the room even though he has been convincing himself but the narrator stayed quite and hid in the dark.
  • The narrator had dragged the old man and suffocated him with the big bed until he was dead. He had killed this poor old man in cold blood. But then again  he smiled after he killed the man. Further in the story the narrator chopped up the old man and leaves no evident behind.
  • The police had knocked in the door and the narrator had left no evidence. He opened the door for them and lets them in.
