  • Chapter 1
  • "If you don't want me I can go off in the hills an' find a cave. I can go away any time"
  • "No-look! I was jus' foolin', Lennie. 'Cause I want you to stay with me."
  • Chapter 2
  • "He hates big guys"
  • "Say, what the hell's he got on his shoulder? Lennie didn't do nothing to him"
  • "What the hell you laughin' at"
  • Chapter 3
  • "Get 'im, Lennie!"
  • "huh"
  • George had been complaining about how well off he would be without Lennie, but Lennie then tells George he will just leave and never come back. George cares about Lennie, their friendship means a lot to him and George does not really want George to leave.
  • Chapter 4
  • "Why ain't you wanted?"
  • George is standing up for Lennie who Curley had picked on, Candy explains to George what he knows about Curley and how he does not like big guys and picks on them.
  • Chapter 5
  • Curley is getting mad tries to pick a fight with Lennie, he goes and punches him. Lennie looks for George to help him, but he just cheers him on to fend for himself. This shows how good of a friendship they have by Geroge cheering Lennie on.
  • Chapter 6
  • Lennie is trying to make a new friend and gets Crooks to open up to him a bit. Crooks is a bit cold and harsh on Lennie because he is always alone, but getting to talk to someone makes him feel a bit less lonely.
  • " Cause I'm black"
  • Curley's wife is trying to comfort Lennie in an attempt to talk to someone being that she was lonely only really getting to talk to Curley. She seemed to really want to make a friend yet Lennie was told not to talk to her.
  • " I done it.. and now he's dead.."
  • "Don't worry none"
  • There isn't any dialogue for when George shoots Lennie but for George it is very difficult to do this. He did not want Lennie to suffer or go through any pain since everyone was out to kill him. This showing how much he cares for Lennie to put him out of his misery before he faces it
