Storyboard Text

  • Psyche was sad and alone. Her luck had run out... Or had it?
  • Aphrodite had heard Psyche's prayers for her son, Eros, back. But, Aphrodite was still jealous over Psyche's beauty to she set 3 difficult tasks for revenge.
  • Psyche's first task, separate three different grains into different piles. This was of course impossible. In her frustration, she hadn't realized the small ants that were helping her.
  • Aphrodite was shocked to see this task done so quickly, so for the second trial she told Psyche to go to the River Estige and fetch water from it. This river was very dangerous but Psyche was determined.
  • The river was full of rocks and could only be accessed through a winged creature. The other gods, seeing Aphrodite's cruelty, sent down Zeus's eagle to help Psyche.
  • Lastly, Aphrodite was told to go to the underworld and ask Persephone to put some of her beauty into a box. Of course, Persephone heard Psyche's story and gave her some of her beauty.
  • Eros, back in his castle heard of Psyche's misfortune and was touched by her determination. He sent for her immediately and they were finally reunited.
