The Virginia Plan includes a two house legislature, having the states representation be proportional. Personally, I endorse this plan.
The Virginia Plan was supported by the large states.
The New Jersey Plan is much more sophisticated than your silly Virginia plan because there is a one house legislature and there is equal representation in Congress.
The New Jersey plan was supported by smaller states.
The compromise was that the legislature was bicameral, there was an equal representation in the upper house of Congress, and the representation in the lower house of congress to be proportional to the population.
As a northerner, I believe that we should not count all other persons to determine representation, but, counting other persons for the purpose of determining taxation, should in fact, be legal.
Well I, as a southerner, believe that the other persons should be counted as part of the population to determine representation, but counting such persons for the purpose of determining taxation, should not be legal.
The compromise was that three fifths of the slaves would be conted as part of the population to determine representation and three fifths would be counted for determining taxation.
